Is there any way?

Is there any way to remember choices from another chapter.

What I mean in I have 2 options for an assassin outfit and the reader can choose one. And then I would maybe need it after a few chapters. Is there a way to remember which outfit they chose on that one chapter? And then at the same chapter I have a few different guns and knives and again I would need to remember them again in another chapter.

So is there a way to do that? Other than gains. Or do I just have to use gains somehow?

You need to work with gains in this case.

For example:

label outfitgame

NARRATOR
What should I wear?

Choice
“Assassin Outfit”{
@CHARACTER changes into ASSASSIN_OUTFIT

NARRATOR
Is this the outfit you wish to wear?
Choice
“Yes”{
gain assassin_outfit
continue
}
“No”{
goto outfitgame
}
}
“Black Panther Outfit” {
}

Then when you want the choice to be remembered, you have to use if elif or else

If (assassin_outfit) {
}
elif (blackpanther_outfit) {
}
else {
}

Yeah okay. I was afraid I’d have to start working with gains but thanks. :grin:

there is easier way you do not need gains

you simoply have to name the choice:

here is example from my story:

label dressing_game_2
@speechbubble reset
MARBEL (think_rubchin)
What do I want to wear?

choice (OUTFIT_1)
“Blue pants” {
@MARBEL is dustoff_neutral_loop
@MARBEL changes into MARBEL_TRIP
@MARBEL is dustoff_neutral_loop

} “Pink pants” {
@MARBEL is dustoff_neutral_loop
@MARBEL changes into MARBEL_TRIP2
@MARBEL is dustoff_neutral_loop

}
MARBEL (think_rubchin)
Do I want to wear this one?
choice
“It’s perfect!” {
#insert script here

} “No, I want to try on the other one!” {
goto dressing_game_2
}

and to remember later in next chapter:

if (TRIP is “Blue pants”){
@MARBEL changes into MARBEL_TRIP
} else {
@MARBEL changes into MARBEL_TRIP2
}

This works for 2 choices if you have more you would need if/elif/else but the principle is the same.
