I really donāt get why everybodyās bashing the app already and itās not even out yet. Clearly itās in testing and obviously when itās official there will be an option for you to publish your own stories. Pretty sure that was the whole point of a new app in the first place so that you can publish non pg-13 content like everybody has been complaining about before. Chill out and be glad that theyāre even making this new app. Also Iām sure a lot of what you see from these screenshots will change when they release the official app.

Iāve seen an author complaining in her insta story about having to change her story to meet the deadline, and then bashing the in beta app based on the few leaked screenies and without testing it, saying āIāll continue to push the boundaries ā

At this point I donāt really care what direction episode goes, and chooses what type of stories to feature or not feature. Are some of the stories based on the screenshots cringeworthy? Absolutely. But I just want a general platform that allows more creative freedom while still having the features episode has.

I just hope people who do decide to go the erotica route do their research into the lifestyle theyāre portraying. And that they are more talented writers than the slapped together blurred lines mess that we all know will be coming from the originals section.

Right? I get that theyāre basically screaming āadults onlyā in the descriptionā¦ but given the high number of teens that use and create, I guarentee theyāll find a way to get on the app.
Also, Iām the last to clutch my pearls about a lot, but in my bed is just cringy. It was when it was betaād on episodeā¦ I can only imagine what itās like on ivy. Poorly written and directed imo

I do hope so. When I first found episode, I though how cool would it be to tell a story about addiction and the road to recovery. Then I saw the guidelines and was like nope, this is not the platform for that idea. So i am excited to see what comes of it.

And what if they found this app? Itās their parents responsibility not episode. Plus kids majority of kids arenāt innocent nowadays, a lot of them already have watched porn by the age of 12. Off course itās a problem. Off course some of them will find their way on the new app. But what can we do about it really ? Is it our fault ? Again itās their parents responsibility (even if itās hard ) to protect them from all those thingsā¦ But as a young adult, I would love to have an episode version designed for us, where I can read/write stories with mature topics, such as addiction, talk about sensitive topics such as abuse. See thriller story with more graphic scenes and actual horror story. A place using unique episodeās features (that offer us so much possibilities and even more with less strict guidelines like there will be in Ivy) where I donāt have to censor curse word such as shitā¦

Ok so here are some screenshots I took.
At the moment, there arenāt a lot of stories. Thereās one community-turned-featured vampire story (which seems romance based), but apart from that all the stories at the moment are heavily romance focused. I read two stories that Iād never read before and both of these were in spotlight, but Under You is in cinematic.
Mini disclosure- I read on āother appsā with sexual content and I love a good erotica. People are dissing this app as porn and itās really not what I would consider porn lol. Pretty sure youāre not allowed to show cartoon characters actually having sex on screen too. Iām curious to see how this will be monitored in user stories going forward.
For an idea of content, I took these two screenshots from the first scene of Under You. Please DO NOT negatively talk about the story if these screenshots arenāt for you as thatās not the point of this post. The content in these posts would be fine on Chapters/Choices.

Iām curious to see how the writerās portal āworksā. I imagine the actual portal will be similar, but I wonder how writing will work. Will it be linked to our Episode account? Will writer payment privileges be transferable? Will āchapter readsā to qualify for payments be totalled across the two apps?
It would be cool if it was all still in the one portal and we could just tick a box to say where we want the story published.
Iām working on a story right now which would do well on the mature app, so Iām thinking of āsexing it upā and publishing it on both (the original version is actually quite sexual so I already have the content lol).

Iām not saying its anyoneās fault that kids will inevitably become members. Just pointing out that its an inevitability. I have high hopes that the community creators are going to take the app in a great direction. Stories about more sensitive subject matter, scary stories that can be actually terrifying and written the way the author sees it. I like the idea of an adults only version. I am excited to be able to put my own stories [like my murder-mystery that Iāve spent months coding and screening and trying to change it around to fit Episodes guidelines.] out there.*
