I’ve seen so many people help out others in this wonderful community, and there are amazing threads dedicated on the forums to aiding people who have questions, and so I’ve decided to create a help thread of my own.
If you need help with anything or tips, ask away and I will try my best to help you out!

There’s no swim animation for Limelight (but there should be), however, there is one called crowdsurf_excited_loop that can be used:

Anyway, I tested it out on writer’s portal and came up with this code:

EXT. OCEAN - DAY

@zoom reset

@YOU spot -1.181 -132 892 AND YOU faces right

@YOU walks to spot -1.181 586 892 in 4 AND YOU does it while crowdsurf_excited_loop

It’s the closest thing to swimming I could find for the limelight style : )

Here’s something that I coded in my free time lol. (It can be used for both ink and limelight, however the animations are in limelight since I wrote the practice script in limelight style).

Anyway, it has simple directing, but contains a locked choice if you chose to be rude to the ice cream owner, you get no free ice cream.

Anyway, the code is:

…And that’s it!
It’s a simple script for getting ice cream free, rejecting it, or being refused it, and later on, the choice you picked is remembered (it doesn’t have to be ice cream-it can be anything else you want it to be.)

Also, don’t forget to reset your story progress if you decide to test it out!

I kind of need help with the if/elif/else coding. Since this coding is used for complex choices, how would I use it to show the outcome of two choices?

An example of remembering choices without using gains:

NARRATOR
What would you like to eat for dinner?

choice (MEAL)
“Pasta” {

NARR
You chose pasta.

} “Noodles” {

NARR
You chose noodles.

}

Then later on to remember this choice:

if (MEAL is “Pasta”) {

NARR
The scene for pasta at dinner goes here.

} else {

NARR
The scene for noodles at dinner goes here.

}

An example of remembering choices using gains:

NARRATOR
What would you like to eat for dinner?

choice
“Pasta” {

NARR
You chose pasta.

gain pasta

} “Noodles” {

NARR
You chose noodles.

gain noodles

}

Then later on to remember this choice:

if (pasta) {

NARR
The scene for pasta at dinner goes here.

And these are the methods you can use for remembering a choice and showing the outcome of it-these two examples use two choices.

It’s like the character Ashden is not making any dialogue along with the other character. Only the character Raina is saying her parts.

Okay I reset the flags. By me doing that, I am able to see both parts of the story based on what choice that I chose right?

If you reset your flags, select the first choice-play through it, including the remembering scene, and then after you are done with this, reset your flags again and select the second choice and play through it all.

Okay! Will it work for the readers though? That choice that they have chosen, will they be able to see the outcome of it?
