When I started writing my story, I found a last name that I wanted to use. Now after a while I find out that this name has been used in stories a few times, but I didn’t know that. So is it bad if I use this name now, even though others have already used it? I don’t want it to seem like I’m just using it because others did.
It shouldn’t be a problem, it’s YOUR character after all.
Nah, you know how many stories I’ve read where the LI is named Jax?
You can still use the name (:

That’s totally okay! It’s practically impossible to use a first/last name that hasn’t been used at least once. So it’s normal!
I made a story with that one…
Yeah, I realize that now. No one will be able to create the exact same character anyway. There will always be something else. Unless you are going to recreate someone’s character exactly of course.
Oh sorry then
Of course, other than that, whatever that last name is, use it
Thankss
