Layers and Character problems

#1

My characters are in a science class there’s people in the back but there’s this one girl just stands in front of my MC and i even added a “@CHARACTER moves to layer 1” if that’s even how you do it but it did nothing.

My next problem is that I have this guy talking to the MC and I put “@CHARACTER moves to spot 1.280 157 14” and when I updated the script I went to the part where he should have appeared but nothing came up.

I don’t know if it helps but I’m doing this on Limelight

For the girl just try
&character movers to layer 1
For the guy write
@CHAR spot 1.280 157 14 AND CHAR faces right or left
Ser if that works

#3

the guy part worked but the character in the background is still standing on her, I might just have to move her if I can’t figure it out

#4

What code do you have for the person you want behind the MC? Are you spotting them or are they walking on screen?

#5

They just walk on screen and I put “@CHAR walks to spot 0.477 246 317”

#6

&CHARACTER moves to layer 1 should work :thinking:

Usually to get stuff like this right I’ll spot direct the person off screen first then I have them walk on screen. Here’s an example of how I usually write it.

&CHARACTER spot 1.280 -100 0 in zone 1 at layer 1

@CHARACTER walks to spot 1.280 160 0 in zone 1 in 3

It worked! Thank you. Do you happen to know how to fix my other character? He won’t show up on my screen, I actually fixed it a few minutes ago but he wasn’t in the spot I wanted him to be in and now I’m having the same problem. It says that he’s there but it’s not letting him come onto the actual screen where he can be seen talking and all that.

#8

In your first post it says “moves to spot”. The right code is walks to spot

#9

Ok I fixed that but he still doesn’t appear :persevere:

#10

Can you copy and paste the parts of the script with him in it? :thinking:

#11

@speechbubble is 105 111 to 100% with tail_top_left
LIAM
So I’m weird
@BAILEY is react_mortified
@BAILEY walks to spot 1.280 228 12
@LIAM spot 1.28 23 37
@LIAM walks to spot 1.28 110 22

#12

Which one isn’t walking to their spot? The code looks ok to me

#13

Liam

#14

The code looks fine unless he’s in the wrong zone? That’s the only thing I can think of

#15

@LIAM walks to spot 1.280 110 22 in zone 1 or 2 which ever zone your scene is in
