Unless you know the layer before you changed it, you cannot reset a layer. Buuuuuuut, you can use the
@CHARACTER moves to layer # code.

it was the default!
Do you know what the default layer is?
There’s no default layer, the entering character will be always in front of the rest on screen characters, the same when you place it the next one will be always layer in front unless you change it
