No I questioned that too. It’s been a few days since I read it, but did she also ride in the car with Poppy?
Considering the age of the audience for the app, I think this probably should have happened differently, or perhaps even been presented with some sort of warning to readers never to get in the car with someone who is drunk.

I like how to make it seem that Episode does not condone drunk driving they had the MC explained what happened and not just show us via flashback. It’s like we don’t want people to think we approve dinking and driving so we’ll just tell not show, like Episode just because you don’t show a character committing a crime doesn’t mean that crime did not happen. Poppy was still drinking and driving, and there is no way to sugarcoat that.

I think it might have sent a more effective message if they did show her getting pulled over and arrested. If they didn’t want to do that, I’m not even sure why the DUI had to have happened after she met the MC. They could have met at the bus stop because Poppy was already not allowed to drive from having a DUI. In that case, the player character would have never been present when Poppy drove drunk, which I find preferable.

Now I think about it, that makes a bit of sense, about the bus stop thing. Why would a spoiled socialite even be around a bus stop at whatever o clock at night anyways?
To be fair, as it seems to be Bri’s first story on the app, the story also doesn’t show the DUI arrest as a flashback as well. That being said, if Episode bothered to have MC imagine a whole ass future with Bentley after seeing the back of his head, they could have at least tried to animate Poppy getting arrested with MC looking forlorn in the distance

I’m just a little confused. It’s obvious that Episode toned down the mentions of physical abuse from the original, but they still have the line of MC having bruises in the first night she’s at Poppy’s house.

Beyoncé’s 7/11 could never-
The thing about that is there being a gem choice where MC is getting new lingerie because Poppy was more or less embarrassed by MC’s plain undies, despite there being a girl with the exact same bra and panties in a different shade in the party. Plus the rest of the girls don’t look that fly as well, just saying
Poppy in this featured version is, in my opinion, a toxic and selfish friend. It was super generous of her to offer us a home, and it boosted my thoughts on Poppy a bit, but when the story continues it all just sort of flopped. She feels pressured to make us look good in front of her posh friends when she can’t even piece together proper matching underwear, and so do the others. She is always forcing us to get together with Preston who she obviously knows we don’t like as we told her so, in which she responded we have to marry a rich man to stay here. Me: WTF? What are you supposed to be, my parent or my friend?
Also I snorted on this. Poor Victoria is obsessed with Bentley.

I read the original story and I really liked it. Yeah poppy is a shtt friend. But as mentioned before it’s not that uncommon for people who get out of an abusive situation to be manipulated so easily again. With your self-esteem broken down.
And in the original the MC isn’t like Poppy and her rich snobby friends so she really is different from the girls Bentley usually meets without it being just something to explain the LI falling for the MC.
Overall I thought it was a sweet story, will not be reading the episode one. Because I really don’t like how the turn a long story into a rushed 8 episode summary

I actually really like that hairstyle. It’s one of the few new hairs (that isn’t gem-locked) that I really like. The rest look like rip off 80s hair styles that you can’t see the back of.
