Which stories have you read? Which ones are your favourites? Do they fit the contest theme? Any interesting choices, quizzes, mini-games? Are you planning to read anything else?
This one DEFINITELY fits the theme. Everything was amazing, I gotta admit. It really was amazing, BUT ALL OF THESE STORIES WERE AWESOME, and they all did fit the theme.
I’ve read:
Between Us
Who Killed Samantha Bonny?
L.O.S.T
Imperceptible
All these stories were amazing and well deserved!!
All the ones I listed are my favorite. Phenomenal! I’ll check out Bewitched, I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Congratulations, lovelies!
I’m a little disappointed because I was so ready to see all my favourite entries on the shelf lol, but I’m glad that some of them made it:
L.O.S.T - I thought this story would win the best directing, I was so impressed by the backgrounds, the use of overlays, and like everything that I could hardly believe it. But anyways, well-deserved win for an amazing story.
Bewitched - I really enjoyed reading this and even though I’m not completely sure it’s the best fit for the contest theme, I expected to see this on the shelf. The directing is awesome in this too, and I loved the dynamic between the characters.
Between Us - A really clever, well-written mystery. The characterization is great, the dialogues are great, and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
EERIE NOIR - This story has a very unique concept. Some of the dialogues were a little too detailed to my taste, but I really loved the atmosphere what the author created.
I read Bewitched and really liked that one. I’m really happy an ink story without CC won best directing because these days, that would be what most people would consider impossible lol.
I’m so happy to see Between Us won. I got to beta read this one and so I saw it all come together and I know how hard Lilly worked on it and I’m just really proud of her. There’s the biggest plot twist at the end of episode 3 and I have no idea what’s now going to happen with episode 4 lol.
I also read On The Run and I though this also had a chance at best directing. There was a few mini games in this too so it was pretty interactive.
I also read Imperceptible… I think it was the first contest entry I read but I don’t actually remember much of it now except that there was some really nice art scenes and a couple of mini games
Are the ones I’ve read from the list and I’ve enjoyed them I really love how MdSava did the eye gif effect, that was amazing and it was very interactive. I loved c.v.erica’s storyline. It immediately sucked me in. These two stories def fit the contest theme. I haven’t read the others though so I’ll try my best to get to that
And that’s OK, Annie, there’s a few entries that I would have loved to see on the shelf as well and even though they didn’t make it, they’re winners in my eyes, in fact everyone who tried should be proud of themselves, give yourself a virtual pat on the back
In regards to the other winners I’ve been busy but I’ve started on Eerie Noir and Bewitched and I’m really enjoying them both. I’ll be back when I’ve read them all and I can give details
From the winners, I had only read 3 entries before the winners were announced.
Clue: Between Us
Summary
This is hands down my favorite of the winners. Lilly did such an amazing job drawing you into the story and the plight of the MC. Then only to whammy you with one hell of a plot twist by the end of chapter 3! I just remember screaming and being like WTF?! It starts off with Gwen, the mc, finding a clue in her home and goes on from there. So I definitely would say that it fits the contest theme. The choices are all about relationship points with other characters of which I failed terribly at. I only ended up getting one with the detective because I suck . I hope that so many other people read and enjoy this story and get just as freaked over the plot twist as I did!
Clue: L.O.S.T.
Summary
This was definitely a unique take on the prompt given for the contest and I quite enjoyed it! There’s plenty of fun mini games to play and the plot has you asking SO many questions by the end of chapter 3, there’s just so much that I want to know! It fits the theme for sure, and I’ll continue reading it once more chapters come. The only issue I had, and it was super minor, was that the chapters were wicked short. Of course, I get why considering how much coding she did. SO MUCH! Her directing is absolutely insane and incredible and I’m envious. It just leaves for not that much content to read sadly.
CLUE: Who Killed Samantha Bonny?
Summary
This was probably another favorite of the contest! I absolutely LOVE the idea of solving a the mystery of a dead case! It’s both a mystery for the day AND a historical mystery. And such a fun one too! Star-Crossed lovers, pirates, and greed? Just sign me up. The characters are all fun too and I actually am surprised to find that I like both LI’s! That’s honestly pretty rare for me. lol The story fits the theme for sure and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I think I have a handle on what’s going on, but who knows? I could be completely wrong and that’s the fun thing about mysteries!
Other stories that seem interesting and I might eventually read (if I give myself the time to lol) are Clue: Bewitched (I am a sucker for witch stories depending on how they’re done), Clue: Veiled Vengeance (just by title and summary alone! This sounds so good?!), and CLUE: EERIE NOIR (everything listed in the summary sounds fun and I’m a sucker for a good noir).
I swear that this story was on the shelf on Friday:
But now it’s gone and is replaced by UN-DEAD, or did I just dream the whole thing?
I checked the announcement thread too, and UN-DEAD is (now?) listed as a winner.
It was one of my favourites actually. Directing all round was amazing and I thought the plot was a neat idea - it’s about lowkey accidentally turning your lab partner into a zombie. My favourite scene was the mixing of potions. The amount of detail that would have gone into that just blows my mind… It changed colour depending on how much of each ingredient you dropped in
