So, I’ve been seeing a lot of people defend doing modern-day blackface by, coming at white chicks, and honestly, it’s ridiculous because 1. There’s no history of “white face” and 2. White chicks is a movie making fun of stereotypes. If people actually watched the movie then you would notice the very first stereotype is Hispanics in gangs, then the ghetto black girl, the rich, dramatic white girls living off their fathers’ money, white women fetishizing black men, self-hating black men.

Tbh, I really enjoyed the movie, so much good humor, and I didn’t even notice everything u mentioned that was portrayed in the movie. I think they said they are working on a part 2 for it.

this movie is ICONIC; and honestly speaking, i see people will use this movie as a rebuttle to why blackface isn’t problematic, which only makes the issue worse

the difference between blackface and “white face” is

blackface has been used a joke, to mock people, where black people have listen to been black is wrong and being white is better, some have tried to bleach there skin thinking it will make them have a better life

I actually like that movie and you’re right, there are a lot of stereotypes in that movie that are very obvious if you pay attention but it’s still a funny movie and there’s no excuse for racist behavior ever. So let’s leave White Chicks out of it :joy:
