well I was going to do a story about the MC being kidnapped by her jealous best friend but honestly it seemed like too much work if you can find a angle for that feel free to use the idea

try doing
@CHAR moves to layer 2
and move the overlay to a larger layer like layer 8

and they should move after a line of a dialog.

Moving my overlay after moving my character or with the background at first?

So have the overlay at layer 8 or something at youā€™re character at layer 2 or something. You donā€™t have to move anything around. Also, after a line of dialog (if they arenā€™t behind the counter yet) they should move. And @Apes can help if I canā€™t!
