Hello,
It seems like a lot of you guys are being supportive and I appreciate that, but also I see that a lot of people disagree with my instagram post. Please keep in mind that that was a month ago when all I saw was the preview on their instagram story and people were dming me about it.
After that I had emailed Episode telling them I just wanted to resolve things and an explanation.
I was told that both stories were going to be reviewed. (Again, sketchy because they easily could have just edited their story and Iām not saying they did but have they not checked the app previously?)
A week and a half later they emailed me back saying that they did not find anything that would count as plagiarism other than āminorā similarities - thus admitting that there are similarities. I was told I could get early access to the story to read it if I sign a none disclosure agreement and I did not respond or sign it because (1) I was scared and (2) if I did sign it and did find similarities I couldnāt tell anyone other than them about it?
I have only read one chapter from that story and I was upset to find out the nature of some scenes were similar. Especially the whole scene that initiates the ākiss listā. I was also upset that they decided to keep the name although it was one of the main sources of the issue. An author was once banned because they had the same title of a very old TV show although the plot was completely different. Why was this different?
As for the starting scene and whole point system, I understand your concern that any story could have that. It just stands out a lot more to me because this story has the same title and driving plot. Couldnāt they have had any other starting scene or not have boasted about their point system?
Anyway, I thank anyone who supports me and would appreciate if I was not attacked especially when I was not even part of this conversation and stumbled upon it due to people informing me of it. I usually never use forums.

My big question is, how on earth episode is a visual novel company but the stories they come up with now are not good at all. Iād expect way better from them. They plagiarized good stories and still come up with some trashy content. Honestly, the featured stories they are coming out with now, I wouldnāt recommend it to my 13 year old sister.

Also forgot to mention, regarding the fanmail and the whole 10 months thing, My story has been in the makings for 17 months and published for 16 because I see that that is also an issue.

Iāve read both stories, and I have to say itās not plagiarism. Yes, the premise is similar (not even the same, as the MC in the featured story wants to bring the āHead Bitch in Chargeā down, because she āsavesā schools from people like her, while the MC in the user story only wants to avoid humiliation and to save herself, and her friends, from being bothered by the ābullyā), and the name is the same, but if you think thatās enough to call for someoneās head, then Iām afraid youāll have to call for a lot of peopleās heads, and let them call for your head, because Iām afraid to tell you neither the plot, nor the name is original. Now, Iām not saying itās the most clichĆ© thing to ever exist, but itās not a new concept to anyone, just look up the same name in Good Reads or Wattpad and youāll see. I know in the Forums thereās a group of people who wants to see Episode as the villain, and believe me, I understand, but in this case I believe itās too much of a reach.

Like what other stuff? Because Iāve read both stories, and other than the typical similarities (jocks, mean girlsā¦), I didnāt find enough stuff to really condemn Episode.
