Let’s have a chat
I’m less then a minute into the story (The kiss list) and it’s already meeting all the episode tropes.
I won’t go into the whole “in my bed” and “blah blah guidelines hypocrites!” Because we’ve all heard it all and it’s just something we can’t change.
Rather, I’d like to rant.
As someone who’s asexual, I am deeply uncomfortable with the portrayal of characters and storyline in this story.
Firstly, why is it that every episode MC is extremely sexual and promiscuous? Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just weird how it’s like that in every story.
The story starts with the main character talking about her sexual experiences with many “boy toys” and “girl toys”. The entire time I cringed.
I feel like the MC is forced into explicit situations I’m not comfortable with. Hell, it’s worse when I name my character after me and make her look like me and then she acts like a thot: which isn’t like me at all considering I’m asexual and sex repulsed.
Another thing is,
Episodes story always appear sex driven. There’s sex appeal, sex mentioned 24/7, and so on. It’s extremly uncreative and Creepy.
I watched their Instagram live story and they said it takes them 11 months to create a story plot…
11 months for you to create this…
WhAt?
I come up with extremely complex storylines just from standing in the shower for 5 minutes waiting for my conditioner to settle in.
Either way,
I can already tell I’m going to dislike this story.
I can’t relate to the MC.
It’s the same concept as the rest of their stories.
Too much sexualization.

I feel like they overally sexualize female characters In an attempt to come across as representing body positivity, sexual freedom, and probably feminism.
Episode doesn’t realize that sex isn’t everything. That sexualizing things won’t make female leads look stronger.
There’s yet to be asexual representation and so on. There’s also religious factors that go into play.
It’s not just about “ur ma gawd, I’m gonna stay a virgin so I don’t go to hell!”
It’s more than that. I can be a strong spirited woman and still keep my sex life private. There’s many other ways to represent female strength. And it’s not through promiscuity…

I haven’t read it but I’ve saw another story with the same title. However that story has less sex.

I actually liked the ‘girl toys’ and ‘boy toys’ reference . haha. I’m a sex positive equal oppotunity specialist.

They ripped off of the original person who made the story. The Kiss List wasn’t made originally by Episode. They stole the idea. That’s why I don’t want to read any chapter after 1.

Dear God 11 months? More like 11 seconds. 1 minute was enough to get the impression. Overly sexualized, and it’s especially funny, considering the fact, how they love to ban for slightest deviations from the guidelines. MC is so basic I just can’t. I’ve seen it all in movies, in like 40% of the Episode stories.
The only thing that could improve this story is the option to kill your character and end this nightmare.
New features were good tho.

Rest assured. There is only one story called the k*ss list. No original or anything. There is a different story called kiss list. If you like it then read it <3

I would suggest if the author thinks their story has been plagiarised they takes as many screenshots and gathers as much evidence as she can and seeks some legal advice from a lawyer.
If they have they’re making money from something that doesn’t belong to them nor have permission to use.
I have not read either of them so can’t comment personally…

Uh wow. I agree with every single part of what you just said.
I think sometimes it’s like right from the start MC is just drawn to someone. Like You can’t just be drawn to someone you’ve just seen. In real life it isn’t how it happens. You get to know a person, you learn about them and you start liking them and then fall for them and yes it’s not just about sex. Why are they making it about sex? Like oof.

The K*ss list has already gotten a LOT of reads. It’s promoted by episode itself. Casual episode readers who don’t visit forum sites or insta have obviously read it.
