Eh I’m not sure quite how many but somewhere around 5-7 (since it is a very common theme for some reason)
If it has some sort of unique element to it and good directing, I might like it. I also like the action sometimes.
It is so overused. Plus, it glorifies gang life with cliches and romantics, which is completely unrealistic. There are just so many things that could go wrong with a mafia story in my opinion.
Want to see
- at least something different about the plot
- good characters/relationships
- a somewhat realistic embodiment of the mafia (not all butterflies and rainbows)
- A variety of accurately depicted cultures, and something other than Hispanic and Italian gang heritage (since those are the main ethnicities for gang life for some odd reason)
Don’t want to see
- Cliches
- A helpless MC who always needs saving by the bad boy LI
- glorification of gang life
