I said what I had to say there. Her playing the victim earlier today really pissed me off.
I know the author odf this story. It isn’t from a porn game. It’s from a 3D site where she gets her backgrounds from.
There’s an example.
As far as the other site you were talking about, the graphics are different. I’ve watched enough of the Onision drama to know what you’re talking about:
The hair is more realistic.
Hate to post private messages, but this isn’t anything too private (I had to crop it to prove it was me, but also keep my other chats out)
I’ve known Jones for over two years. I read the first chapter of the story, but simply wasn’t interested. I guess I looked past the problematic shit becuase we’re friends.
Hii… I am deeply sorry. A good friend of mine told me it looks the same as a style of a prob game. That is why I said what I said being a porn game. Sorry!!
I hope the best can come out of this situation where nobody has to get hurt, and people learn from this experience.
I deleted that specific comment so it won’t do more trouble
No need to be sorry. When I put them side by side, I saw the resemblence.
Although I obviously agree that it should be taken down, I think if the story was made to not romanticize the sexual assault and abuse, and to put it in a bad light, I think it would be good to spread awareness on the toxic relationships between gay couples because it happens way too often. But obviously this is a bad story since it’s not trying to shed light in the issues.
What do you mean?
I’m all for stories that spread awareness and show the effects of toxic relationships (see, Lovebird by ceri), but as you said, this story is not about that, and even if it was, the author’s not doing a good job at showing that. It’s romanticizing, fetishizing and and overall just offensive to the LGBTQ+ community.
I’m talking to her now.
Asking about what she had in mind for the story.
Let us know what she answers!
Because people tend to try and make the LGBTQ+ look like nothing goes wrong and it’s all positive, however we need to shed light on those relationships that are abusive and toxic so that these people know they are not alone. Something like that, it’s hard to explain.
I think this explains it pretty well:
I don’t think you get it. The issue is not that it’s gay & abusive. There are two separate problems here.
- It’s a gay stereotype. Gay predators/gay sexual harassers is actually a stereotype gay men suffer from. They’re portrayed as hypersexualized and therefore abusive. It’s specifically a stereotype gay men have and these stereotypes are offensive.
- It’s about a sexual harasser who gets forgiven by his victim and they’re love interests. This is a false portrayal and romanticizing of predators. Predators don’t get redeemed. Predators don’t get forgiven. Predators don’t get a happy ending. This is damaging to victims of sexual abuse and teaches that things like sexual harassment can be forgiven. They can’t.
No one is trying to pretend LGBT couples don’t have problems just like cis-het couples. I’m not sure where you brought that up. If you read stories written by members of the community and represent it well, you will see that they can get into fights. They can do stupid things. And yes, they can be harassers. But what Cora did is stereotyping gay men which is offensive as hell.
I’m not saying that what I’m speaking about has anything to do with the story.
I’m saying that although the story is problematic and obviously needs to be taken down, I think stories about problematic gay relationships (if done properly and doesn’t romanticize anything) is good since it sheds light on some issues that are not well known. It’s just an opinion stemming from the way they portrayed a gay relationship in a bad way.
But since the story doesn’t execute the issue well, and is just fetishising gay people then it doesn’t suit my idea.
You asked me what I meant by my statement and I told you what I meant. That small sentence alone didn’t really have anything to do with the story itself.
I’m just explaining that I think if another story was made which put an abusive gay relationship in a bad light instead of trying to fetishise + stereotype, then it would be helpful adding onto the awareness of these kinds of relationships.
Yup!
I never ever saw that story. Wtf is that!?!?
