I forgot one of my biggest hates…
If you have characters who are famous for something, DON’T make them “the best actress/singer/dancer/footballer in the country/world” it’s unrealistic, and, for lack of a better word, cringey. The same as when they are “dropping a new album” and it instantly sells out and they make an adoring, vomit inducing thankful speech to their millions of “fans” it’s like a child making their dream speech when they imagine growing up. It’s hard to read and I can’t take it seriously.
