Limelight INK Classic

Classic stories feel more original than LL or ink stories. Idk man.

LL

I like this style the most. It’s more diverse, and the animations and clothing are better than the ones before. Plus, dogs and horses!

Ink

This one is nice too, but compared to LL it’s a little lacking. The animations are more cartoonish but depending on the story it could make or break it.

Classic

I don’t play stories with Classic style :skull: I just find the animations weird and bland. Plus there’s this weird glitch with the shoes and it looks sloppy when they’re turned around.

LL At first I didn’t like it but now I’m fall with it.
Love the outfits, animation plus it gets updates more

INK

Ink will always have my heart I might write in ink again not sure, I like the animation terrible clothing tho need to upgrade on that which will be never

Classic

Classic :face_vomiting::face_vomiting: no offense I used to read classic stories before the other styles I was fine with it back then now, eh don’t care for it.

I downloaded episode in August last year (Yes newbie me :unamused:) and I got used to LL stories.

But after I read a few stories, INK suddenly becomes my fav. It’s interchangeable

Classic on the other hand, no offense but the animations give me the heebie-jeebies

the LL animations make me cringe :woman_facepalming:

I guess me and my friends are the only ones who think this, but i think their animations look so unreal-
Like ik it’s a cArToOn but it looks somewhat real and the movement just looks wrong to me

My Opinions:

LL

Def my favorite style. You can make so many different types of people in LL that it’s hard to come across a character in a story that looks almost exactly like your MC. Athough, ngl, i really didn’t like LL all that much when it first came out.

INK

It used to be my favorite style. The characters are cute and i love the cartoon-y vibe INK has

CLASSIC

Classic is absolutely terrifying to me :flushed: If i was exposed to this art style as a little kid, it’d probably haunt my nightmares. But i think that’s just because i first downloaded Episode when Classic was obsolete, so i wasn’t used to it. The closet is hella cute tho.

I totally agree on classic. But also, I had episode when featured stories were still using it, and it was really off putting to me. (I was probably 11 or something at the time) The animations felt like
corpses walking around- LOL. And their design was really awkward in a way that made the app feel sketchy
Idk how to explain the extent to how creepy classic was to me as a kid. djhewijf- But it also didn’t help that episode stories were a lot more “lenient” with their guidelines, so even episode originals had loose boundaries. So with all that in consideration- to sum it up, classic is terrifying

I like the animations and the amount of customization available (and still being added)

Ink

I like the style’s simplicity and animation, it has some good outfits as well. If a story doesn’t have customization, I tend to like it more in ink.

Classic

The animation feels weird and tense, does have a couple of good outfits that I want on limelight. It doesn’t offer much customization either. The characters look too weird for my taste. I’ve never even finished an episode of a classic story.

LL

I love LL :star_struck: And it gets updated.

INK

I have only read the Demi series in this style and used the mobile creator when it was a thing in this style. I didn’t mind it then because it was all I knew. But when seeing the LI in those stories I noticed they all look the same and I can’t read an INK story. I don’t like it because they all look the same. Love the animations tho.

classic

Someone shoot me before I even think about reading that creepy weird style.

Limelight

This is my favorite especially because it gets constantly updated and has a lot more diverse characters compared to ink or classic

Ink

I think style is okay, has a pretty good wardrobe and I love some of the hairstyles, I wish some of them could be remade in limelight

Classic

This is the style I started with so it has a special place in my heart. The wardrobe is honestly the best out of all the styles. If it weren’t for classic I would not have found this beaut of an outfit😍

INK is the best by far then LL is okay and Classic is a no go.

I have a very big problem with the INK/Classic style, I just can’t.
Limelight is everything! Whether it’s clothing choices, body type, hairstyles, this style offers a lot of alternatives to get diverse characters. Also I prefer the way the characters appear in LL, it’s much more beautiful.
However, I find that some of the animations in INK are much more realistic than those in LL style. For example the latest dance and flirt animations in LL are so
weird

But if i have to choose between those three, i’m def on the limelight team.

The first time I read a story in classic
I thought the whole style was a mistake!!!:joy::rofl:

It wasn’t until much later that I discovered that this was the original story style.

Formal thoughts since I see these all the time, but have never responded:

Long-ish

My preference is INK, then Classic, then Limelight. I started reading/writing stories in 2015 so I do have a bit of a soft spot for classic. I was searching for new stories the other day and was so shocked when one I clicked on was in Classic I almost cried, ngl. The outfits are cute and the characters, while limited, do have a decent range of expression (shoutout to whoever said the Classic males look like pedophiles though because they doooooo :skull:). But after the great INK migration, I was sold. I started my first story in INK, fell in love, and swiftly abandoned the project for four years. INK has my favorite animations so far, very expressive with the right mix of cartoony and realistic (put some strings over cry_sob_loop w/ slow zoom on MC, and you’re practically golden for a funeral scene). I also like INK’s faceshapes, lips, and eyes. From what I’ve seen, I think LL has better noses and hair, though. I like the diversity LL has, but I don’t think it’s really fair to compare the two on that regard. Also, the LL closet is chef’s kiss. I love designing fresh outfits, but I know the INK closet like the back of my hand at this point :’((

I wasn’t active when Limelight came to town so maybe that’s why it looks so uncanny valley to me. There’s something off about it; the characters are supposed to be more realistic, but they’re so plastic/not emotive enough. To me, Limelight looks like an upgraded Classic instead of upgraded INK. I know I shouldn’t be talking about a new style when LL still has so far to go, but I would actually really like to see something in between LL and INK, like the characters on the front page of the forums.

You got the shading, accessories, body mods, and diverse features without the ai airbrushed barbie effect. Like, where was this???

TLDR–> 1. INK 2. Classic 3. Limelight
