I know! Ahhhh, it’s just frustrating when small authors (like me, teehee) do a ton of research for a background character, but big authors can just do whatever they want with no consequences. And the Episode mods aren’t good at, well, moderating it since the big authors are bringing in more money that the small authors.

When Ora was caught out for having little to no diversity with personalities, skin tones and sexualities she completely went the wrong way about which shows what kind of person she is. Instead of really taking the time to go through her story and just maybe take the constructive criticism from everyone and especially the people who are from the Hispanic and Latinx community. She put in a Uwu gay couple and made it worse, I’m 100% a LGBTQ+ supporter! And I’m pretty close to the community, so when I see the screenshots on IG it’s like how have none of her friends told her that what she’s making isn’t working and is fetishising certain groups of people that already get enough sh*t. I feel bad for anyone that’s been directly triggered by her stories.

bless you. reminds me, i’ve been doing some mad research on ocd recently because i, for the life of myself and everyone, don’t want to get one thing wrong about it. i don’t have ocd, but the stigma surrounding it fucking hurts.

I’m spending a lot of my free time learning about muslim culture for my muslim main character. I’m doing the same for my christian main character and potentially about buddhism for the villain’s mother. Ugh. Why do big authors get a free pass???

When I was starting out (on episode) I used a Spanish translator, I even used it for my Spanish class!!(it was dumb) and the thing is the teacher knew I used a translator.
Moral of the story… dont use them!!
