Loop problem send help

#1

I have another bad boi. Helpppppppppppppppp

&overlay FIRE1 create THEN overlay FIRE1 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE1 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 create THEN overlay FIRE2 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE2 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 create THEN overlay FIRE3 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE3 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE4 create THEN overlay FIRE4 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE4 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE4 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE4 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE5 create THEN overlay FIRE5 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE5 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE5 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE5 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE6 create THEN overlay FIRE6 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE6 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE6 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE6 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE7 create THEN overlay FIRE7 shifts to -120 -78 THEN overlay FIRE7 scales to 2.278 2.278 THEN overlay FIRE7 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE7 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

The problem is “Loop can be only used with overlay animations”

#2

And yes I am using a gif

#3

Hi.
First of that’s a _loooonnggg loop.
I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think you can use create within a loop sequence…
Try creting all the overlays prior to the loop, for instance at the background creation.

#4

So I should add them to background, then just change the opacity?

#5

Precisely.
Just change the opacity instantly to 0 at the start by using & sign and then turn them on/off when you need them with the loop.

#6

&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN opacity FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

Now it says this is not a valid directing command

#7

Loops hate me :upside_down_face:

#8

here’s the problem
it should be “THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times”

fixed version:
&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN pause for 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

#9

Na, not hate. It’s just getting a bit confused over the mixed signals. It’s very perticular in its handling/orders to follow. You need to be firm but clear,

To my experience you can’t have pauses in a loop either…
What you have to do is imitate a pause, by repeating the previous command (in your case the opacity to 1) for as long as you want the pause to be. Because you already have given that command previously the loop will skip the visibal opacity change.

&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

#10

oh, I think that’s right. my bad!

#11

It still says “Not a valid directing command”
yep, that’s definitely hating, can recognize it everywhere

#12

Crap, and I can’t test it out because I don’t have those overlays, I have to go by eyes alone…
Did you copy my command sequence or changing your own? Because mine had a typo when I first posted it. :flushed: I’ve fixed it but you might have gotten the wrong one if you were fast…
My computer won’t cooperate with me today, it’s lagging. I’m apperantly trying to many things at one time for it to handle…

<3

#13

Yes I fixed it currently this is the script:

&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN opacity FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

Such a hateful animation…

#14

It looks right as far as I can see.
Have you tried changing the INFINITE to a number to see if that works.
You can also try out the animation step by step to see where the problem is.

<3

#15

&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times

I tried this but overlay doesn’t show up.

#16

You’re missing a overlay!

&overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE1 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN overlay FIRE2 opacity 0 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0 THEN overlay FIRE3 opacity 1 in 0.1 THEN opacity FIRE3 opacity 0 in 0 loop INFINITE times <— one overlay missing and one opacity to much.

Ps: Sorry, that was my misstake. As I said my computer was lagging. Even crashed soon after…

#17

Which one?

#18

This should work…

#19

It worked! Thank you so much!

#20

Team effort, my friend.
