My story “episode parody” has a chapter that deals with mafia tending clichés.
SPOLIERS
In it, a completely innocent woman who has never committed in crime gets in the way of mafia fight. Despite never fighting, she easily knocks down the “bad” mafia guy with one punch. The “good” mafia guy is impressed and offers to take her out. Although hesitant to go out with a stranger, she does because he’s “hot.” He trains her, they go after the mafia guy. On the way he murders the innocent woman’s that she saved husband. They track down and kill the “bad” mafia guy (killing numerous innocent citizens accidentally caught in the crossfire.) They celebrate, the the police come. They are arrested. The “good” mafia guy claims he’ll take all the blame and the girl will get off. Although he tries, the cop tells him it doesn’t work that way they have forensics to prove they were both involved. The girl is sentenced to 30 years in jail. The mafia guy and his boss get life. The girl is thrown in with a harden criminal that is about to beat her. The mafia guy’s boss is stabbed by a prisoner and advances towards him as the chapter ends.
It may be a parody, but this would be a more likely ending than the “ending up happily ever after” ending you see in mafia stories trending.
