I’ve been on and off ironically reading a mafia story, and I can’t continue because my skin is CRAWLING. I unironically want the mafia boy to get killed off at this point, but I know that is a vain wish. I hate him for a plethora of reasons:
- He’s possessive. He randomly showed up (IN THE FEMALE’S ROOM, MIND YOU) without her permission and decided he controlled her now. She wants to go somewhere? Nope, she’s going with him. She wants to wear a short dress? Uh, sorry, she can’t do that (this is why I can’t continue). In what world is that OK? Last I checked, that was harassment.
- He grabs the MC. This relates to point 1, but he grabs her, preventing her from escaping. Clearly, he doesn’t know what “no” means, because anyone who’s ever said it to him gets treated like garbage. And then, while he’s being all creepy, an art scene happens!? Like!? This is a hostile situation! The MC should flamethrower this guy and run! THAT’S NOT ROMANTIC!
- He treats everyone around him like garbage. His employees have to deal with his toxicity, and the MC gets it worst of all because she’s…pretty? I don’t know. And he’s a hypocrite for reasons I won’t go into in case it gives the specific story away (HOW DOES THIS HAVE MORE READS THAN MY STORY AND OTHER STORIES THAT ARE ACTUALLY GOOD? HOW???)
- There is nothing, and I mean NOTHING, redeeming about him. I just want him to get thrown into an incinerator. He is not romantic, he is not three-dimensional, he is not attractive–he is more like Jackson from Finding Emerald than an actual LI.
