Synopsis - Elenwe, a Falaien girl has come of age, and as all Falaiens do on their 18th birthday, she must attend a blessing ceremony where she will be gifted with her special power. But something goes wrong at the ceremony, and instead of a blessing, she is confronted by Kallan, a strange man from outside the seclusion and protection of her small village. He declares she must leave with him immediately, so that together they can save the realm from certain doom. Afraid and startled by the intrusion, she initially refuses, but when a destructive premonition confirms what he says to be true, she has no option but to follow him.
This story follows Elenwe on her journey of self discovery, where Kal must protect her from danger, and from those that would hunt her for her power. Will they be able to save the realm from the impending darkness? Will Elenwe discover her true power? Who will they meet along the way? And how will their - initially frosty - relationship develop?
