Hi, I need some help on this one. I’m having the main character and three friends sit at a table having a conversation. I’ve seen this for Pretty Little Liars so I wanted to add this to my story but I don’t know how.
YOU - CHARACTER 1
MELANIE - CHARACTER 2
AVA - CHARACTER 3
SOPHIA - CHARACTER 4
You need to use overlay so they can be behind table.
How to use overlays:
Please visit my website for more templates and guides!
OVERLAYNAME is the overlay name
x coordinate is where the overlay is placed on the screen horizontally (side to side)
y coordinate is where the overlay is placed on the screen vertically (up and down)
% is the scale size
T stands for time in seconds
# means “number”
NOTE: When you test your story and move your overlay around, you will see 2 codes that look something like this (examples):
And place your characters using spot directing
. I’m RudeInception and today we will be discussing Spot Directing. This method will allow you to move/place your character wherever you want to on the screen. Here we go:
Spot directing is made easier when using the Episode app for help. The following image will serve as reference:
Taken from my story: LOBITA
When you open the app to preview your story, you’ll want to click on Yellow and then click Red.
Blue is used to switch characters.
White toggles bet…
Get an answer to your question?
I will still encourage you to try to do it yourself.
Choose the background and pick a table overlay
Add characters to the scene using normal commands (
@CHAR stands screen right etc) Open Directing Helper and play around with spot directing placing characters behind the table, then copy the numbers to your script
If you have problems with layers check my thread here
HOW TO: Move Characters / Overlays to the Layers
I know this might be hard because you’re only starting but the only way to learn is to practice
Let me know if you have more questions.
