Short synopsis :
‘A sudden move to Chiya’s homeland grants her the chance to reconnect with her roots whilst dealing with chronic anxiety. What begins as a hopeful change soon unveils death’s smile.’
Longer synopsis :
‘Chiya, a young college dropout, seeks to reconnect with her roots as she moves back to Japan after her older sister, Asami receives a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity in Kyoto. While struggling with chronic anxiety and having the responsibility to help Asami, who is diagnosed with congenital blindness, Chiya hopes to discover a part of her that was once lost.
Though amidst all the excitement of making new memories together, she gradually witnesses the unveiling of sinister truths of her homeland. Strange and disquieting events unfold as Chiya starts to question herself. Death is near, and it’s smiling right at you.’

What does ‘Jisei’ stand for?
It is the “farewell poem to life”, they were written by literate people just before their death. Jisei is meant to be an expression of the acceptance of death and a look back at how you spent your time on Earth.
Which platform will it be released on?
Jisei will exclusively be released on Episode Interactive as of now with the future possibilities of being released on Spotlight and as a webcomic.
How many chapters will Jisei have?
There will be at least 20 chapters of average length each.
Will there be any Romance?
Chiya Miyagawa, our MC, is both aromantic and asexual, therefore there won’t be any romance. This horror story will be entirely focused on the grim and sinister experience.
How scary will Jisei be?
I can’t give a definite answer as it will be different for each person, and I personally have a different standard of what I consider truly scary. However, Jisei will be more unsettling and anxiety-inducing rather than violent and gory. I’ll leave it at that.
Why is there no customization?
You, the reader, will be ‘playing’ as Chiya Miyagawa, a young Japanese college dropout in the fictional world of Jisei. Not as anybody else. I have crafted every character with full purpose and to accurately depict my vision for Jisei, including personalities and overall appearance.
