Motivation to Keep writing

Despite having low reads, I’m determined to keep writing and publishing my work. I know that if I’m passionate about what I’m writing, the readers will come eventually. I have a specific reason why I write and I won’t let low reads stop me from pursuing my passion.

That’s the spirit! I felt the same way when I started, consistency is key! :cupid:

I kept seeing posts in my feed of people saying things like “posting consistently to my 9 followers”. Seeing it over and over again made me think. I like my story and I shouldn’t stop just because the number of reads is low. Thank you so much as well. Your support means a lot to me. :sparkles::heart_on_fire:

You can do it :muscle: i admit i had low motivation too. Pretty much no one, aside from my besties (like 2?), read my story before I completed it + I’ve never been featured, but I still felt the drive to power through and give my story an ending which im proud of :blob_hearts:

Quote to live by (one of my fav inspiring quotes):

" You see, in my view a writer is a writer not because she writes well and easily, because she has amazing talent, because everything she does is golden . In my view a writer is a writer because even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway." - Junot Diaz :rose:

Honestly I think readers don’t take notice until you’ve written up to a certain chapter. My reads did not begin picking up until I reached chapter 7. Thats when they know you won’t abandon the story

When you’re a new writer though, as i am… My tip is to update more regularly than a famous author. Say weekly or something. Us new writers fade into obscurity rather quickly than episode famous writers hence they can get away with updating monthly. So far I’ve been having good feedback with my story so I am trying to double time and finish season 1 before I start my summer internship.

No problem. Us new writers gotta lift each other up. I literally only published late March.

Omg I published a story, Vacation Reunion, back in high school, and that got a lot of reads; then I made a spin-off and didn’t get as many reads but also made other stories. It’s been since around 2018 or 2019, and I just published this year and want to get into it again. But me being older and building my relationship with Christ, I learned that writing helps me a lot and is my way of communication

I also noticed your genre is Comedy/Drama/Romance. Good news and bad news, those genres are the most popular but also means more new authors are attempting a writing career through them which means its harder to trend and be noticed.
