Multiple Love Interests

Hey, I’m a writer with a lot of questions, but I’m really confused about one thing.
I don’t know how to let the reader choose a different love interest then what I picked out.
For example; Let’s say that I have two love interests for the reader. But the reader chooses Love Interest A, I don’t know how to set the storyline at that point.
I don’t know how to make choices that will effect the story. Kind of like if you had a choice to forgive your friend or don’t forgive your friend, it wold make an impact on the story. So can anyone please help me?
