My character comes before the background

I’m trying to make a scene where my character Madison is driving and then she calls her friend Natasha and when she calls the background slides in with Natasha there but when I did the code, Natasha would be present before the background comes in. I’ve tried everything so I truly hope you guys can help maybe but anyways here’s the code.

EXT. CITY HIGHWAY LOOP - DAY with CAR ANGLE BROWN with AIRPORT

music car_motor

@zoom reset

@MADISON spot 0.848 80 71 in zone 1 AND MADISON moves to layer 0 AND MADISON faces right AND MADISON starts idle_book_open_neutral_loop

@overlay CAR ANGLE BROWN shifts to -454 -11 in zone 1
@overlay CAR ANGLE BROWN scales to 1.000 1.000
@overlay CAR ANGLE BROWN moves to layer 1

@overlay 6488146122178560_AIRPORT shifts to 5 -18 in zone 2

@overlay 6488146122178560_AIRPORT moves to layer 2

@NATASHA changes into NATASHA_rednblack
&NATASHA spot 1.001 239 155 in zone 1 AND NATASHA moves to layer 4 AND NATASHA faces left

Maybe use MADISON moves to layer 1 ?
I’m not at all too good at advanced coding so I aimn’t sure about this but you can try.

The character appears before the background because of this. She changes into an outfit before she is spotted, just move this after spotting the character and I think that should do it (Or to make it smoother, spot her off-screen, change her outfit and then spot her into the scene).

So are you saying that @NATASHA changes into NATASHA_rednblack should go after the spotting?

Yup. It’ll look weird considering she changes halfway through which is why I added - consider spotting her off screen first to change her outfit, then only spot her in the scene. Hope that makes sense!

I’ll try it out and get right back to you! :smiley:

I did that and it didn’t do anything :frowning_face: I might just cut the scene out

Hmm :thinking: hold, let me look through the code again, the background you’re using is the airport overlay right?

Wait I should’ve seen this earlier, I feel so blur :sweat_smile: Your overlay moves to its spot in 3 seconds but NATASHA does not, NATASHA just spots there, so make NATASHA walk to the spot like above (in bold).
