I am trying to start a new scene and I am placing a character into the background before the fade in and they are not showing up when I try to preview. Can someone help me please?

Maybe try placing the character after the fade in and see if it works.
Yeah that works, but its is not working before the fade. I have done the same thing multiple time in just this one episode and it worked every time. I don’t know why it is not working now.
I know someone who had that problem before but that was because they used Safari instead of Chrome. So maybe you should try changing the browser.
Also, if you don’t mind, can I see the script?

I don’t think that is the right coding, love. You’ve started a new scene at INT. SECRET ROYAL BEDROOM - NIGHT, so the coding before that is practically irrelevant to the current scene as you’ve placed her in the previous scene. I don’t know if you’ve understood what I’ve said and I’ll elaborate if you want me to. And also, try previewing from the start and you’ll see that she has been placed at the scene prior to this one.

when coding the beginning of a scene with a transition you have to place the transition command after the spotting commands and etc. the script goes line by line and if you have your spotting commands after the transition command, your characters will show up after the transition has already happened.
your script should something look like this:
INT. BACKGROUND NAME
&CHARACTER spot x.xxx xxx xx in zone x and CHARACTER spot x.xxx xxx xx in zone x
@transition fade in black in x
see how i coded the transition after the spot directing? try doing that in your script and see if it works. don’t forget to include the & sign instead of the @ sign infront of the spot directing or else it won’t work how it’s supposed to.
