Never even thought about Subgenres. Those could also help with the entire issue. The only thing is I would be hesitant of people putting a story in a sub-genre because one scene correlated to comedy, or they had a spooky episode for Halloween, etc., etc. The only thing I fear with sub-genres are they would make some genre’s filled to the brim with stories that probably don’t have much to do with the theme, and people just tacking sub genre’s on for the sake of spreading their story instead of really thinking about what sub-genre their story would fit into. In general, Episode is in need of diversification, and some new genres would really add some new flair and get some creative juices flowing for people to really stretch the bounds writing wise and take these stories to new extremes.
