My overlay is flying in from the left side?

I have pretty much everything I want my overlay to do written out and working fine… however for some reason I just can’t code my way around I can’t figure out why it keeps flying in from the left instead of starting in the original position I write?

@overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC create
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC to layer 4
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC shifts to 205 288 in 1.0 in zone 4
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC scales to 0.296 0.296
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC opacity 0 in 1.0
@overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC opacity 1.0 in 1.0
@overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC shifts to 179 248 in 1.0 in zone 4
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC scales to 0.394 0.394
@overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC rotates 360 anchor point 0.5 0.5 in 1.0
@overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC shifts to 117 309 in 1.0 in zone 4
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC scales to 0.517 0.517
&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC opacity 0.0 in 1.0

Everything from the beginning works the way I want it to, it’s just literally that opening part. It comes from the zone to the left. Any ideas why?

you create in and on 3 line you shift in but you have there time 1-second instead O to be placed there immediately .so I guess this is the reason

&overlay 5878355889356800_DARKMAGIC shifts to 205 288 in 1.0 in zone 4

so try to wtite 0 instead. Tell me if this worked.:slight_smile:

I tested your code and it worked fine. Can you give us more of the scene before this coding? What I’d personally do is start a new scene with:

INT. BLACK - DAY instead of going into zone 4 and put the overlay into the background.

So put INT. BLACK - DAY with DARKMAGIC
The overlay will immediately appear and then just add this overlay spot directing into it.

That seemed to work great! Thank you. :slight_smile:
