Girl ofc! I’m making my characters mostly black because it takes place in Atlanta and I’m going for a RHOA vibe but there are a lot of different people in the mix in my characters.

Bad boy, not quite my MC is from the hood, and aspiring to be a rapper. He’ll have some bad boy qualities maybe

I’m not quite sure on how to do that since its my first story but when I was writing it out I did envision a black man with dreads lol but I did have an idea about you guys choosing the sex of the character tho and having an alternate version with that

I like that. A realistic hood hopefully. People make it so stereotypical and unrealistic in stories.
