I have a character that speaks Spanish and English but she has an accent because her first language is Spanish I didn’t really know how to write that/portray that, I was also wondering if there were any common phrases I should throw in?

I’m also learning Spanish btw :blob_hearts:

What type of phrases?

Somethings you might say when you’re frustrated or angry or those types of phrases where they just come out quick. She’s a nanny so if you know any Spanish scolding phrases or something like that that would be great too.

I do know some but they are kind of mean words that’s alright?

As long as they’re not super inappropriate or anything, I just need words like that to occasionally slip in to show that she has an accent.

Are there any other words I can slip in/use or phrases to just show that she has an accent?

Yes.

Some words that exist are:

  • Carajo!

  • Maldita sea!

  • Caramba

There are more too

And because she would be more likely to know those phrases than American ones.

Because you understand both English and Spanish, do you rotate between the two or mix the two up in conversation if you are talking to someone who speaks both? I wanted this character to do that but I wasn’t exactly sure how because I don’t know Spanish THAT well.

U rotate it. It usually dosent sound well together
