Okay, so now I have a second question,( still regarding the pink pillow), I want the character to throw the pillow across the screen from one zone to another, panning as it goes? I saw this technique with directing in another person’s story but they used a snowball…i just wondered how I would do this ?

LOL nevermind I kinda figured out something that works for me for that directing aspect. Is there any way to FLIP an overlay UPSIDE down?

Hi I’m new here and I have noooooooo idea what I’m doing lol. I’m trying to make my character eat the same food that the reader chose. For example, if the reader chose to eat a pink donut, how do I get my character to eat a pink donut and not a chocolate one? Thanks!

But after the reader has made this choice, there’s some dialogue in the middle before the characters actually start eating their food. So how do I add the specific food to the character according to what the reader chose? Do I use labels? I hope this makes sense!

You need to use gains or if/else method.

I know this is an old thread but i’m hoping someone can help me lol
I’m having trouble even figuring out how to post on the forum so I could use all the help I can get obviously.
I am trying to put a character offscreen so that the text bubble shows up but the character doesn’t and i cannot seem to figure it out. I used spot helper to drag the character off the screen but when I preview they show back up. I’m also just really stuck at how to put in sounds or make things happen between dialogue like if someone falls I’m not sure how to then make them get back up. I’m a total newbie with all of this so i really hope someone sees this lmao

Can someone tell me what THEN means in the script? Is it the same as saying AND and WHILE when a character is doing something?

When you drag the character offscreen you need to copy its position and put into the script.
E.g. @CHARACTER spot 1.280 504 19 in zone 3 (or whatever zone you are using if it’s not a one zone background)

I also advise to go to Youtube and watch Joseph Evans’ tutorials, and I personally really like Episode Notes and this girl.

I made an account just so I can ask this,
it says in the error box that "there is a { on line 588 that does not have a matching }"

I’m so confused because my code is right (i think) and it’s a

Has this been updated? I could definitely use a double/look-a-like of a character… Basically, I want a character to wear contacts and dye their hair… The hair issue is simple enough but do I have to create a new character with different colored eyes and hair?

No, you can use coding to change the eye color just like you can the hair color. You might have to add the codes to “change” the hair and eye color back to the defaults in the beginning of your script as a lot of people mention after changing it, say, in the middle of an episode it changes it from the beginning. That’s what I did with my characters.

Codes:
@CHARACTER changes hairColor into [insert hair color name]
@CHARACTER changes eyesColor into [insert eye color name]

You must type the name of the color exactly as labeled in the portal for the code to work.
