I want my characters to appear in the scene I want instead of spotting them
Some of my characters will appear after I tap my screen with the spotting direction, and I want to have multiple characters be in the background when the story continues to that scene. Or is there another way of doing this?
Use & for each character.
So:
&CHAR1 spot…
&CHAR2 spot…
If you’re panning to, for example, zone 3, place characters first, then pan.
hii! could you please share a screenshot of your script? :))
Try like this
Sence
@character spot x y z in zone a and character2 spot x y z in zone a
@cut to zone a
The kid he’s punching doesn’t appear till you tap the screen or wait after a few seconds, I want them to appear at the time you know?
Use & command
Instend of @
Alright thank you, I’ll go try this out right now hope it helps

I’m tired so going to rest for a bit now but in case you’re still stuck, hope this helps ![]()
In beginning, add in zone 2 for all characters in zone 2 before you pan to zone 2. Forgetting puts them in zone 1. For below, when in zone 2, place HAZEL in zone 1 before you pan there so they don’t pop up. Forgetting puts them in zone 2, zone you are in. Use &. Here’s an example code (dropped out lots of code + added some new things):
INT. PREP ACADEMY - DAY
&cut to zone 1
&zoom reset
&SPOT1…
&SPOT2…
&SPOT3… in zone 2…
&SPOT4… in zone 2…
&SPOT5… in zone 2…
@transition fade in blue 3
readerMessage …
@pause for 0.7 then pan to zone 2
&HAZEL spot 0.619 55 162 in zone 1 and HAZEL faces right
@pause for 0.7
&HAZEL is search_neutral
@pan to zone 1
&pan to zone 2…
@HAZEL walks to…in zone 2…
&zoom on… in 3
@HAZEL is talk_greet_neutral
#recommended to use layers for each character (person punching goes at higher layer than one being punched; background characters at lower layer than foreground characters)
I fixed it but thanks for the help. I’ll definitely take a picture of it so it helps me in the future
