Can someone tell me how to fade my overlays?

I still don’t get it…I’ve already looked at your “A Guide to Using & Animating Overlays” post… do you think you could give me a example both played out and script?
If you want your overlay to “fade” out, change the opacity to 0 in however many seconds you want.
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0 in 3
What about fade in?
Set the opacity to 0 in 0 seconds at the beginning of the scene. Then just change the opacity to 1 in however many seconds you want.
