Need help with transitions

I need help with transitions. When I try to use it, this is the order when i test it: the background appears, characters just pop up to the scene, and then the transition goes on. I tried to watch a youtube video about it and did everything as told, but it didn’t help. For example

guy1 exits left

guy2 exits left

@transition fade out black 5

INT. BLACK - NIGHT

NARRATOR
One hour later…

EXT. MOUNTAIN ROAD LOOP - DAY

guy1 stands screen center and guy1 is walk_neutral and guy1 faces right

guy2 stands screen left and guy2 is walk_neutral and guy2 faces right

@transition fade in black 3

You need to use & symbols. They allow the actions to happen at the same time.

Example:
INT. BLACK - NIGHT

NARRATOR
One hour later…

EXT. MOUNTAIN ROAD LOOP - DAY

&guy1 stands screen center and guy1 is walk_neutral and guy1 faces right

&guy2 stands screen left and guy2 is walk_neutral and guy2 faces right

I have another question if you can help. Is it possible to make a character do a behavior at the same time with a narrator speech bubble?

Yes. You use the same concept with the &. You put the action with the & before the dialogue.

Example:
&CHARACTER1 is talk_angry
&CHARACTER2 is talk_angry
NARRATOR
I hate you
