i’m intrigued. i would read it, especially because the title can mean so many things. i’d want to find out what happens; who’s dead, if anyone? why is the story called dead? why are the people in the cover worried?
it’s a simplistic cover, yes, but i don’t mind that. the font also seems to fit the vibe, so that’s a good bonus.

Well everyone has an eye for certain things…
Basically story cover is a picture description, so if you would summarize your plot using a picture that is your story cover. You can try to depict main conflict or tipping point! I hope this helped you some way!

Okok I like it as it is! The characters don’t need changing, they show emotion and thats gonna draw people in. I’d add a shadow to them, because right now it all looks pretty flat, and their clothes are the same colour as the background so they don’t stand out very well.
As for the title, love the font, love how the white colour stands out from the black in the background, I’d also add a shadow to that, again so its not flat. A bevel would also look good on the text, just to add a little more contrast and make it less flat. Personally, I’d move it to the bottom third of the cover, above the author name. I think titles at the top aren’t usually a good idea because you have to look for them, my eye immediately goes to the center of the page, if the title is closer to there people are more likely to see it. You usually see the title there in movie covers for example, for this reason. You want the readers eye to go immediately to the title.
