Hey guys! Hope you are having a wonderful Monday! If not, hopefully, this will make it better :))
This week’s discussion topic is Thanksgiving! It’s coming up. I know COVID has probably foiled most of your plans but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to look forward to! My question for you: what are you looking forward to? What is your favorite thing about Thanksgiving? favorite dish? least favorite thing?
Even if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, feel free to leave a response about one of your favorite holidays. I would love to hear from you! x
(lol I almost forgot to make a thread this week but low and behold it’s here)
my response: I love Thanksgiving because it’s just a jolly time. it’s different than Christmas because it’s not neccessarily a religious holiday but one for celebrating friends, family, and anything else you’re thankful for. It’s a happy time for me every year. I put my Christmas tree and other decorations, eat great food, steal some amazing shopping deals, see family & friends, and relax. My favorite dish is probably my brother’s cornbread. it’s really good for some reason!!

Even we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving so I will mention my favourite holiday. My favourite holiday is Christmas because I love winter season and the Christmas vibes always cheer me up. There are many religions in India and I am Hindu. Now I don’t want to say much about religions but I love Christianity a lot. I am so excited for Christmas . If talking about thanksgiving then I would like to thank all the people on forums and in real life who were there for me. Also regarding the last thread, after sharing my story I got so many responses that cheered me up I was so happy that I am in a community where all the people are so lovely. Thanks @epy.neha for your threads they are amazing
I personally love thanksgiving cuz our whole family gets together and its such a good time for family bonding, you know what I mean?
cuz of covid and all I think we are planning like a virtual thanksgiving in my fam I’m not sure rn but if its happening I’m reallllyyy looking forward to it!!
my favorite dish…hmmm…its definitely pumpkin pie!! I absolutely love love love pumpkin pie!! it’s just
I hate cleaning it call up at the end especially if my family is hosting it…it’s just not good!
We always have a Friendsgiving with our social pod, who we’ve known for like 6 years. So we’re doing the same thing year. None of us really eat meat so my mom always makes lasagna instead. And lot’s of cornbread!
I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, but when I was a kid I always wanted to haha. I always felt like I was the only one who didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving out of my classmates, and was too embarrassed to admit it lol. I think Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday where you get to spend time with friends and family, plus you can enjoy good food!
Thanksgiving already passed for me. I live in Canada so it’s in October. But I look forward to celebrating my birthday (the 24th), eating lots of food, and procrastinating. I don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving regardless, so I just enjoy the day off.
I love halloween and hate christmas-
Like the lights are cute and all for christmas but im born in december- which means half of my birthday presents are set aside for christmas… so I have to wait till christmas to open the other half of my bday presents (because my parents think the idea of having more to open on one day is better than opening the presents the day they are for…)
@MMG- lol that’s alright! @June_Sinclair- Christmas is also a good time! I agree with you, the vibes do always cheer me up. I’m glad that you like my threads! I love hearing from you! xx @Lana_Carter- Yes, it’s good family time for sure. I’m sorry that you can’t be with your family, but at least you are seeing them (virtually and celebrating- hopefully!) hope all goes well. enjoy the holiday :)) @Maeverie.Rivera- that’s neat! I love lasagna and ahh cornbread too!! do you have a unique lasagna recipe that your mom uses? @Amphia- That’s right, the holidays are fun! Just because you don’t go all out, doesn’t mean you don’t celebrate! as long as you’re spending time with your family and friends, it’s still considered celebrating! I hope you have an amazing holiday. Stay safe and have fun too!!
@Krithi.epi- I’m sorry that you don’t celebrate it, hopefully, you can use the long weekend to hang out with some friends and just relax! Sleeping in is definitely something you can do lol @Hellchaser Oh, okay, I didn’t know that Thanksgiving is earlier for you guys! happy (belated) Thanksgiving, then! I hope you enjoyed the day off. Also, happy birthday! I hope you’re having a great day, today! @kahotshot Haha, eating food is truly such a great part of it. Turkey is one of my favorite dishes too! @RJK I get it. Birthdays in my family are in August and September, so when the holidays come around it’s a whole new set of presents. I think that having your birthday in December is also fun because you might get more presents? I don’t know. Presents aren’t really that important, it’s more about spending time with your family and friends
