New Story Raw Idea, But Not Sure Of It, Can Anyone Tell Me If It's A Good Idea Or How To Build On It?

So… With the new Dogs art release, I got a story idea, but before I start it, I wanna know if it’s a good idea, and/or how to build on it. Here it is:

“Sydney has grown up in a dog-hating family, and has always thought she hated dogs too, but what happens when she finds a wounded dog on the street and nurses her back to health?”

It’s a really cute idea. It would be nice for a short story. if longer then the story would have to develop another plotline that would connect with the dog since the story is about the dog and the girl bonding

I want it to be longer, but I don’t know how to expand the idea.

you can do the mc struggling with a serious matter in her life atm and the dog comes in, not only causing her more stress but also helping her gradually

My father used to hate cats because he had an accident involving a cat. Then we rescued a cat and now he loves her. The main conflict now is that many people dislike coming to our house because of my pets (it’s sad, I know).

Another sad thing that you can include to make your story longer is very sad but it happens in real life. Imagine the family falling in love with this dog and then he dies… it’s cruel and unfair, maybe that makes them not wanting to adopt a dog again, but then MC finds another one and it’s a conflict to make her family changes their mind

“Sydney has grown up in a dog-hating family, and has always thought she hated dogs too, but what happens when she finds a wounded dog on the street and nurses her back to health? And eventually, when Sydney is struggling with college exams and the loss of her grandmother, the dog comes in and causes her more stress, but also helps Syndey gradually. But then a year later, the dog dies and the family is devastated, and don’t want to adopt a dog ever again, but then Sydney finds another dog in need of help.”

How does this sound @AlexandraD @atsukowrites

I like it but I think the death is too fast. this is my opinion on this: that once you bond with a specific dog (most times your own) it’s difficult to have that bond with another one. just something to have in mind. it’s your story
