Hey guys. I’m 5’2 (158 cm) and I get called tall a lot. I find it pretty offensive because people say it an a way such as “you’re a giant” and people refer to me as “Mariam the tall girl” so being called tall has become really annoying. I’ve searched a lot about this and according to most websites, 5’5 and under is considered short for a woman. But I want to know peoples opinions. What height do you think is considered short or tall for a girl?

Sounds more like sarcasm to me. Or a way to get you upset over it. Also, being referred to as “tall” isn’t something someone usually finds offensive. There are worse things in the world. Let it go.

There is nothing wrong with being tall first of all, lol. I would just take what they say as a compliment.
I’m a little above 5’4 (So average)
Plus you’ll always encounter people who are taller than you, or shorter. Even if your height is considered average or not average. I’m average height according to google, but a lot of people in my class and high school in general are taller than me.

bulling often has nothing to do with you. I was bullied for been fat, while been underweight. they are just saying it because it hurts you, not because its true. talk to teachers and your parents about it

Yeah, I mean depends on your age. If you’re like 13 or 14, then yeah that’d be average but if you’re an adult, that’d be considered short. Like 5’5 and above is like the average height for a woman in my opinion.
It ain’t that big of a deal in my opinion, so just ignore it because they’re just teasing you.
I get that it’s becoming annoying because they say it repeatedly. But I think if you stop reacting to it or act like you don’t care about it anymore, they will eventually stop. This from personal experience. My friends like to tease me to but only because they find my reaction funny. So when you stop they stop 
Also if you’re considered tall depends on your age and where you come from, I think. If you’re young, you will grow taller eventually. If you’re an adult, then not. But where you come from effects it too, I believe. Where I come from the average woman is around 5’5 (167 cm) and the man is around 5’11 (181 cm). So in other countries you can be considered short, tall or avarage.
No, it’s actually not about that. People try to say it as a compliment, they don’t know it makes me mad because I don’t respond when they say it. I know there are worse things in the world, and I do have bigger problems to think about, but we all have our insecurities.
As for the age, I’m 13 almost 14 but I stopped growing a long time ago. I have clothes from when I was 11 or 12 and they haven’t gotten shorter one bit. Also, most females stop growing taller about 2 years after menstruation begins, and it’s already been over 3 years for me.
Anyway, I don’t wanna seem like someone who keeps talking non stop about her problems

Also I kinda forgot the stop growing part. It’s true that we, females, stop growing after that and I didn’t even think of that.
Well my opnion would be based of the average of my country and my own length (5’10, 178cm). I would say short but there’s nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t matter how long you’re, you are still you and that is great
