OPINION: Do you like Mafia stories

I like mafia stories but they are everywhere so I would rather stick with fantasy stories

No, I really dislike them and I am going to leave it at that before I get into a whole paragraph.

I don’t mind reading them as long as mafia is portrayed correctly in the story. Like maybe the mafia in the story is the villain instead of being the love interest.

In reality do you want to date a guy who is irresponsible or a jerk? Do you want to marry a murderer? Is mafia boyfriend material?

I have mixed thoughts about them. In the stories I have read, there’s always this innocent girl who falls in love with a man who has no emotions whatsoever - which at first, I didn’t mind, but it started to get repetitive. If you like writing/reading that, that’s fine though!

I feel like some people have to realize that this is pure FICTION it’s not reality, so calm down your hormones people lmao, like no one is going to date a killer in real life. if it’s not your cup of tea though, please don’t read them and later on send hate to the author

I swear now no one is allowed to have stories like that now, I swear everyone complains and say everything is toxic. Do they want us to wants to write stories about dora the explorer or nemo dchsebsh

I used to love mafia stories but now the plot is overused.
And repetitive like you said.

oof yeah I’ve come across stories like that too and that’s not okay

There’s uhm other ways of making more ‘adult’ stories without romanticizing stuff that maybe should be criticized and denounced instead

No toxic mafia tropes doesn’t equal to Dora and Nemo lol

If the mafia story is good than I’ll like it, If is pretty bad I won’t read it :relieved:

To be honest. I don’t like those kind of stories… Because mostly the storyline isn’t realistic. :point_right: Most mafia-bosses aren’t hot (think about Al Capone) and easy to get ‘changed’ by an innocent girl that makes him swoon and vice versa. The only mafia story I definitely liked to read was for example ‘The Devil in Disguise’. Little more realistic and drama…

The thing is vampire werewolves alien or superheroes dont exist. So it is up to the author to write anything (as long as not toxic) according to their fantasy and creativity. Billionaires are real and authors portray them correctly like being rich, cocky. But mafia? Think about it

I read a mafia story when I was 12 and decided I wanted a mafia leader for a boyfriend. Until I realised that I basically wanted to be with a murderer.
Point is, I’m not the only one who thought this way before, or at least still does, and that’s not right. It’s gotten to a point where mafia stories also make it seem as if innocence if evil and being a killer is gold. Which is wrong, so wrong.

It’s funny that Mafia stories have lots of reads but here on this thread, we find almost everyone saying no. Then I wonder where are the people who read these stories? What do they have to say? I wonder what is the age groups in the forums though.

Usually, when entering Episode, Mafia stories are the first things and become a guilty pleasure. But over time and I mean a long time… then we will get bored of it. So it’s like a phase.

Nonetheless, I stop reading stories my relationships with boys get better though. I don’t expect much and earn to grow to form healthy perspectives. Something that cannot be done if too overly obsessing reading and writing Mafia stories. Psychology speaking it makes our minds fall into a sphere of ‘bliss comfort zone state’. An addiction. We think it great and will violently reject or unable to see perspectives of others and quickly classifying them as haters when in fact at times…these ‘haters’ of Mafia stories aren’t haters just merely giving objective and neutral reasonings without bashing.

These are generally what I observed.

A conundrum.

Ps. This might be an unpopular opinion. We are afraid to say we hate or not bash at things and people…which is alright but at times it is justified to call out we hate something so that it will ‘wake up’ the other party from their actions. Esp if their actions are causing great harm to themselves and they cannot help themselves out of it. But we outside 3rd perspective can see it. Linking this to Mafia stories, esp if Young Girls with Malleable Minds read these stories and may form such perceptions and will treat others in real life wrongly since they are influenced by Mafia stories, then yes it is justified to call these Young Girls out before it really gets out of hand.

I don’t read them because I don’t find anything which is romantic with mafia stories at all because to me they are still criminals in certain ways so I do not want to read them. Also in stories like this, a lot of toxic relationships are portrayed and not to forget alot of cheating/ sleeping with so many ppl. So I don’t like the idea of romanticize with mafia characters and I did read one which I can’t rmb the title, I feel they always make the ladies weak in these stories. This is why I don’t want to read them. No hate to those who write them. It’s just my opinion.

Yes this is episode not ivy. Young readers may not differentiate what is realistic and what is not when it comes to mafia. That is why it should be portrayed correctly. Ofc young readers do know that vampire werewolve dont exist so that case is different

@JannahJackson:

I wonder what is the age groups in the forums though.

13 until 65 years??? To be honest there is a variation… I am an author and reader. As an author I try to make stories that is also compatible for 13 year olds (although I always warn them that my stories are 18+ in the description).

But I have troubles with mafia stories because they aren’t compatible with 13 year olds… I am 37 and I even get shocked sometimes about this kind of stories… :woman_facepalming:
