For someone that hates most romance books in real life, I read a lot of them on here, and I have just finished “plotting” the scenes of episode one of my new story, and I notice that in a lot of the stories I’ve read, the relationship of some of the MC’s and LI’s is based on sexual love? Like the MC has a three hour long narration on how much she wants to eat the LI and I know people like that and that’s why I’m asking this.
Instead of doing the MC’s and LI’s relationship based on sexual attraction, if it’s based on the innocence of it? Sure, I’ll add sexual stuff and kissing blah blah but if it’s main focus is on the purity of it?
Would that be appeasing as a reader?
As an example of this, imagine instead of a long steamy kiss on a rooftop, the LI pulls her in and wraps his arms around her burying his face into her neck and promising he’s gonna stay with her until his last breath.
Does that seem like a decent swap?
Straight, LGBT+, all kinds lol. But I like them more for the “emotional love” that develops between the characters more so than the “sexual love”. Scenes like that would definitely make me want to read your story! It wouldn’t take anything away from it in my opinion either. Not to mention I get horrible second-hand embarrassment when I read episode stories nowadays. When the MC explains how she’d "lick this" or "taste that" and etc. 
It’s a thriller-drama story.
