The horror…what about Mrs Potato Head as well.
I’m pretty sure Mr Potato Head identifies as a guy.

That’s a great idea!
I think if we didn’t make breasts such a gendered thing it wouldn’t be a bigger deal
The breast thing is weird for me because it’s not the same as chest, and it feels like one of those preformative woke things rather than something that actually helps. And with referring to parents, I imagine that would be more beneficial as legal term thing rather than a vernacular thing?
As for history, we shouldn’t censor anything, but at the same time I can see a culture of shame coming from it. I am a certified white person, and because of my depression I dealt with a lot of white guilt to the point where I was self harming and suicidal. It took a lot of work or me to understand that pointing out historical facts isn’t a statement about me, but many people don’t have the skills to be that self-aware.
I don’t think making Mr. Potatohead into just Potatohead is that big of a deal since it’s literally just a toy
Making them non-binary doesn’t add or remove anything imo, so I don’t understand the hate for that.
Also, is it like illegal to use anything other than nonbinary terms? Or just recommended? Cause those are completely different things, and making something like using mom or dad illegal is clearly wrong.
Probably suggested.
Oh, no don’t worry it’s just recommended. I really didn’t explain this well did I…
This really made me upset when I found out about this simply because I grew up calling Mr potato head…Mr potato head. People say there changing it for the younger generation but the younger generation aren’t focused on toys like that. I understand there trying to enforce these things but to change mr potato head to just potato head is just not it he’s married to mrs potato head. I have nothing against non gender people I just feel like they shouldn’t change mr potato head to just potato head.
I agree with you. Thank you for sharing
I mean this is not something I am enraged about even though I was brought up with Mr potato head. I thought they would just include a new potato head to the family and make it gender-neutral. I saw a few months ago when they must have been “testing” it out since my sister got a toy that just said potato head. I was confused at first but this is what they were trying out. I mean as much as I like Mr potato head it is not something to get upset and blame gen z for. I bet you haven’t even played with it in years so why do you really care. Why does making things more exclusive make people act like babies throwing their toys out the pram? And as for the other ones it is not something I have heard of before this post so it must not be effect in the UK unless it is I just have never heard of it. I will still call my mum my mum and my dad my dad. Idk it just seems like something so cold. Like if you in a mood with them you would say that. I wouldn’t use it unless someone told me that is what they would rather be known as. If I am calling my parents anything different it will be a*shole 1 and a-shole 2.
Simply because some things should just be left alone. Like you stated they should’ve just made a whole new toy instead of changing it and it’s not even a real potato it’s plastic so for them to have a meeting on a plastic potato is most defly reaching!
Is this like, every country or…
Yes I agree. Just introduce a new potaothead character.
It’s like when people change characteristics of already well known and established characters.
I mean I don’t personally believe it was for being exclusive. It was definitely more of a business move in my opinion. I mean nobody has really talked about the potato heads in how long? They must have thought about how many people are comfortable coming out that they prefer not to be known as she/her and he/him and decided to make money and get publicity off of it. So yes I agree some things like the Mr potato head hold memories and you want to keep them nostalgic but after everything that has been going on it seems a useless argument. Do you really think they are going to change it?
