My opinion is, that this should not be included in the story if you have NOT experienced it as an author, yourself, and not the character that you’re writing.
And racism is not “interesting”. 
Also, as I’ve said again, this is not a good fit for the DL contest, so maybe try something else and fresh and not writing about racism.
