Tbh, write bc u love it 
As a hobby, not a career. In a sense, ur parents r correct. Episode pays v little even for writers w hundreds of millions of reads. But… it is a good way to launch a writing career, I guess. But I think u shouldn’t care abt the writers payments bc basically all the authors who do well do it bc it’s their passion.
