Overlay Fading/Moving

#1

Hello! I’ve got a problem with the overlay which is also the title of the chapter I’m currently writing. At first I tried to make kind of animated title - it slowly floating down the screen, but it didn’t work as smoothly as I wanted when I changed the value of the position. It is possibly too advanced directing for me :joy:
Then I tried to make it fade in the scene and than fade out. Fading out part worked but fading in… not so much. I’ve seen another post about this problem but the solution didn’t work for me. I tested it in both Writing Portal preview and also on my iPad.

At first I used this script:

@overlay NAME opacity 1 in 4
@overlay NAME shifts to 74 450
@overlay NAME scales to 0.319 0.319

Unfortunately, overlay was in the default place with default size and then it suddenly jumped on top of the screen (without fading in)

And then I tried this:

&overlay NAME opacity 1 in 4
&overlay NAME shifts to 74 450
&overlay NAME scales to 0.319 0.319

And this:

@overlay NAME opacity 1 in 4
&overlay NAME shifts to 74 450
&overlay NAME scales to 0.319 0.319

Which caused the fading not working at all.

Could somebody help me with fading or animating the overlay? I’d really appreciate it! Thank you in advance :heart:

Try this:

&overlay NAME shifts to 74 450
&overlay NAME scales to 0.319 0.319
@overlay NAME opacity 1 in 4

It didn’t work :frowning: The overlay is showing from the beginning.

How about this?

&overlay NAME opacity 0
&overlay NAME shifts to 74 450
&overlay NAME scales to 0.319 0.319

@pause for 0.2 (I just added the pause for good measure, feel free to remove if unnecessary)

@overlay NAME opacity 1 in 4

Omg, it worked! Thank you so much :heart:
