Overlay Help ; - ;

So in my scene, I have three overlays at use.

INT. BLACK - DAY
&overlay RED VELVET create
&overlay RED VELVET opacity 1 in 0
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD create
&overlay PSYCHE1ALIVE create
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD moves to layer 100
&overlay PSYCHE1ALIVE moves to layer 99
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD opacity 1 in 0

But when I preview the story on my browser all that shows up in the preview is just a bunch of gray.
Anyone know who to get my actual overlays to appear?
(overlay PSYCHE1ALIVE is supposed to be invisible)

Thanks in advance :cold_sweat:

Did you use scale & shift?

Not yet, as I had no idea how the original overlay was going to be placed.

Well that’s why it’s not working, do you have any previous revisions of overlays

Nope, but that has worked for all of my previous tries with different overlays.
I’ll try adding scale & shift and then get back to you!

Okay

&overlay REDVELVET create
&overlay REDVELVET opacity 1 in 0
&overlay REDVELVET shifts to 0 0
&overlay REDVELVET scales to 1.000 1.000
&overlay REDVELVET moves to layer -1
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD create
&overlay PSYCHE1ALIVE create
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD moves to layer 5
&overlay 6702106766344192_PSYCHE1DEAD shifts to 0 0
&overlay 6702106766344192_PSYCHE1DEAD scales to 1.000 1.000
&overlay PSYCHE1ALIVE moves to layer 4
&overlay 6702106766344192_PSYCHE1ALIVE shifts to 0 0
&overlay 6702106766344192_PSYCHE1ALIVE scales to 1.000 1.000
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD opacity 1 in 0

What I changed it to, but it still doesn’t work

@overlay create is used when you want to put an overlay during the scenes. If you want an overlay/multiples already there when the scene start you will have to write INT. BLACK - DAY with PSYCHE1DEAD at layer 100 with PSYCHE1ALIVE at layer 99 <— This is a example

INT. BLACK - DAY with PSYCHE1DEAD at layer 100 with PSYCHE1ALIVE at layer 99 with REDVELVET at layer 1
&overlay REDVELVET opacity 1 in 0
&overlay PSYCHE1DEAD opacity 1 in 0

INT. BACKGROUND NAME - DAY with OVERLAYNAME with OVERLAYNAME with OVERLAYNAME
or
INT. BACKGROUND NAME - DAY with OVERLAYNAME in zone # with OVERLAYNAME to % x y in zone # with OVERLAYNAME at layer #

Try this (insert your background and overlays ) this was by Dara.Amarie, her guide is more specific
(The guide name is “A guide to Using & Animating OVERLAYS” go and search it)
