Hi, I have a problem.
Today, in the morning my overlay has been rejected after 3 months from accepting it by epi and after 2.5 months being in my story
How can I change it to be accepted by Epi?
It’s Gremlin from a movie Gremlins. Without it, whole scene doesn’t have any sense… Can I change it by some coloring program and it will be ok, or they again reject it?
I have it from site with free png.

Try re-uploading it or send a ticket?
Gremlins are copyrighted or trademarked.
You probably have to find another kind of “creature” to put into your story.
It sucks, but using it would probably hold both you and episode liable in a possible lawsuit.

Ok, and if I find overlay of Gremlin draw by someone it will be ok?
No, it goes for all depictions of the character unfortunately.

Thank you all!
I send a ticket with possible new overlays and I’m waiting if I must delete whole scene or if I can change the overlay for drowned one.

you cant use an copyright matiriel, this arent royalty free I think did you find them on google, I aumse that. you cant use anything from google or pinterest and most other places. what you use have to be copyright free.
this drawn once belong to someone and using them is committing art theft.
I take all png’s from a site more than once recommended by authors on this forum:
https://www.cleanpng.com/
If I’m doing art theft, then most of episode authors also.
they are cleanpng isnt much better then pinterest. you can find lots of very obvious copyrighted matiriel on the site
Even on royalty free websites you can find brands, this is how I have had multiple overlays and backgrounds rejected most of them have been hidden really well that I didn’t see them but any character is a no no in general. Also anyone can upload to those sites so when we go on them we have to hope that nobody has put up an image that isn’t free to use.
Even episode have had star wars characters in their stories but they and the original author clearly missed them when it was clear as day to me so yes a lot of people have copyrighted images in their stories even episode themselves but that doesn’t mean just because one person happened to use something that was copyrighted that we all should. We are going to have bre the consequences of using those images so we shouldn’t leave things to chance.
Yeah, sure, ok.
I wanted help, I get it (by telling me, that I can send ticket to epi) , now I’m waiting for episode decision.
End of topic.
