PETITION: More Ink!

Ink animations are so much better to me. Idk what it is about LL that makes it feel so dead.

INK is so good, to me, at this point, only a future 3D version of INK with the addition of the exact same character animations and character features available for the current INK style now etc. would be the only other style I would ever consider reading or writing with on this platform (but 2D is still the best imo).

From what I know, it’s because the INK style uses old technology, which means it’s really difficult and long to make updates for it. They have new tech for LL, so making updates is easier. It’s sad though because I do love INK.

Although I feel like this is only justified when they actually pump out regular updates! Sometimes there’s barely anything for LL, which makes me think… what’s even the difference, you know! :woman_facepalming:t4:

Thank you so much for replying to me in that manner, I really appreciate it . It’s nice to have reasonable discussions on here, without someone biting your head off LOL! And I feel ya there, I’m super super bummed about it!! :frowning: Still don’t get it :pensive:.

Yeah, they say it’s due to the technology that makes updates slower, but I don’t think that’s a valid reason to stop updating a style completely. Even if the updates are slow, I’m sure that some mature and patient ink fans will understand, and even those slow updates will make us happy (I know I’d be happy )
If the style is really outdated and unpopular (like classic) then I can understand why they don’t want to update it anymore. But ink has a huge fan base, so it’s not like abandoning it will help them

I think that’s an issue of numbers. There are already hundreds of things that they should be implementing that they’re taking ages to do. For example, they still haven’t rolled out the social part of the app for everyone. Having two styles running at once would make things take even longer!!! I still believe that they should have given us way more for INK before they rolled out LL to begin with, but that’s a whole different story!!

Actually, when it was told that Classic wouldn’t be receiving updates anymore, there was a big fanbase for Classic at that time and INK was not well received generally, pretty much how INK users seem to dislike Limelight- although INK got much more hate back then, imo. The reason was the same as INK- that technology for the style was outdated. In my opinion, with technology’s growth, eventually Limelight will also become outdated. Maybe, that isn’t true and Limelight is more sustainable as I don’t know much about the technology Episode uses, etc. Unless Episode wants to create a diversity of styles- which would be really cool, I think Episode needs to decide on a art style and recreate the same art style with the new technology that comes out. Obviously, art style changes with time, so they can evolve the art style. But, they need to keep the basics the same. Or maybe by stating this, I’m being ignorant and just don’t know much about how Episode handles the art styles lol.

I swear, they keep updating limelight like ink doesn’t even exist, the same thing happened when ink was replacing Classic, it’s like the other versions don’t even exist and are meant to be thrown away.

ikr

Lol it’s a real bummer when you write a lot of your stories in INK. Feeling like the unwanted stepchild rn. :sob:

Dw! There’s definitely a really huge fan base out there absolutely wanting to read INK (it’s different and a lot of people prefer the more-so cartoon-type style for sure - it actually appears wayyyy more realistic imho) and what we got with INK now is still really workable for a long time and the forseeable future! Although, I truly wish it didn’t have to be that way and was still updated too - for many of those who prefer it. We’ll just have to make do with what we got and at least we should be getting more stuff released sometime soon.

I agree that INK got more hate but INK definitely has a way bigger fanbase than Classic ever did, I think that’s the point she was trying to make. Which imo makes total sense. I can understand technology grows etc. but to completely abandon a style that a lot of people prefer (they could just give us yearly updates which honestly is not even a big deal) is not a totally rational thing to do. So I agree in that regard, it would be much nicer if they sustained a diversity of styles.

Oh I know. This is why I continue writing it in anyway. I mostly see lovers of INK on IG and all over my TL. It’s the best style, periodt.

Oh yeah absolutely, no doubt!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I don’t think we should ever give up. Even if they say they aren’t hoing to update it anymore, it’s just stupid for them not to listen to their fans and supporters. WE ARE THE REASON YOU ARE HERE EPISODE. DON’T BE RUDE TO YOUR FANS OR AUTHORS!! If we keep pestering them about it, who knows, they may eventually comply. I don’t see how it would hurt them in the least to do this. There will always be people who prefer Ink same as LL. I think it’s only fair to have all platforms have equal opportunities so the authors can choose which style they like best.
