Yes exactly, mature app>>>> mature section
What is your definition of mature?
Things that adults can read/watch in any +18 show or movie. Idk if that’s too vague
I like a little bit of both but anything that’s episode feature related is sadly known to be mature and mess up. Not all but most.
Do you know if Episode are working on something right now? You know, since they shut down Ivy, maybe they will come up with something new (I hope!) I mailed them like a month ago about Ivy and other mature app, but never got feedback.
I don’t know about their future plans :(( but we should insist and let them know about our opinions
I totally agree. Have you tried emailing them? Maybe you’ll have better luck than me.
In my opinion Episode should be stricter on the content…
They are when it comes to small authors, but when it comes to big authors or their own stories, they let alot slide.
What do you mean? I don’t like steamy scenes, but maybe you refer to violence…
I mean steamy scenes lol. Personally I’m fine with violence and / or gore
Same here!!! I have a very strong opinion about this, but I’m afraid that people will get mad…
Yes!!! Exactly the same!
You know what? I will say it.
Mafia stories aren’t the real problem, but people want stricter guidelines because of them. They complain that teenagers will read these stories and become the wives of real mafia bosses.
Are you for real? The real problem are the stories like “I hooked up with a rock star”, “My amazing glow up”, “Becoming the Prom Queen”. Yes, these “innocent” PG stories are more harmful because of the message.
Most readers won’t encounter a powerful criminal in their life, but they are prone to (TW) being abused by a celebrity, develop self-esteem issues (because they aren’t pretty and popular), and have unwanted pregnancies or STDs (due to the random hook-ups).
*sorry for the bad grammar, I feel to sick to check everything
I agree, episode should let we write whatever we want
Well, it is geared towards teens.
Mafia stories still glamorize the mafia. And those other stories shouldn’t be glamorized either.
I understand what you mean, it is an app with a pg13 rating, but I feel like movies contain a good portion of violence when they’re pg13, they don’t allow for a lot of nudity, but sex isn’t completly censored, and I’m currently looking for an alternative to episodes, because I really feel like the newer guidelines have somehow tried to get rid of the sexualised content, yet will still feature stories like the kiss list, where the plot is about a girl having to kiss a bunch of guys to win a bet, it’ll be our secret- the story about a woman getting pregnant by her neighbour through a ons and many other stories that are in this grey area, and you wouldn’t have these types of plots on a kids channel either.
I understand why you’re trying to take the logical route of saying that the rules are clear and there is no reason to have this discussion, but the episodes team is doing some damage control. This app was advertised with the pregnancy story, and the cheating boyfriend story where you can choose to leave your cheating boyftiend, or join them for a threesome. I just don’t see how we could confidently ignore this part, how can they expect to advertise this app in this way, and not end up with kids looking for that type of content and then also finding it on the app?
I feel like the idea about the alternative Ivy App is great, but appearently it’s not available for download in most countries, and they never advertised it or told their authors to promote a story on the Ivy App… It is fairly justified for writers and readers to be frustrated with the way Episode deals with their community.
If all it takes is for your kid to read a book to choose a bad life style then that has nothing to do with the story and everything to do with parenting
