I know not getting a lot of reads on your story can seem discouraging at first and even frustrating but getting angry isn’t the way to go about it. You just need to take a step back and say okay what do I need to do to get people to read my story? Try putting your story in as many read for reads as you can and all your social media accounts and ask your friends to read it to. I know it may seem difficult at first especially if you worked so hard on a story but if you keep going the outcome will be worth all the hard work
usually, people make their own topic to promote it, which is what you have done here. but your promoting isn’t that good because its basically just a complaint about not getting reads.
when I was in the Magicka contest I barely got the 100 reads I needed. and most of the reads was thanks to r4r. getting reads on episode is really really hard. you dont get 100 reads in a couple of days, unleash you already have a fanbase there will read it.
you gotta advatise, here. and on Instagram. do r4r’s. of course you also should not spam the forum. by that, I mean making multiple read my story threads. or high jack others.
Moved to Promote Your Story. Make sure to check out our Forum Tutorial for more info about creating topics, and feel free to PM me if you’ve got questions.
Okay so maybe you don’t have as many reads as you would like but as @line123462 said you can’t get reads over night, after promoting your story as much as you can it’s all about the patience game. And besides it shouldn’t matter how many reads you get as long as you love what you written and stand by it no matter how many reads you get
Why not just make your own story thread that asks for R4Rs, where you post updates to your story, and advertise it? Something similar to this thread below can help people know the name of your story and that it’s out.
You could also reach out and try to apply for story shouts on Instagram and try asking for a review.
I think most authors have the same crisis as you, and maybe it’s because you didn’t get your story out there? I’ve had many reviews done on my instagram and a ytuber wanted to feature it on their channel, but you could always ask for review threads here, on instagram, do r4r, etc. My story is the same genre as yours, but maybe it’s because it’s not out in the open, not because it isn’t good. I only had ten reads the first day, but it’s been almost a month now and I have 250. Sure, it’s not that much, but I’m just happy those few people who’ve read my story actually enjoy it. :DD
